Jakobsweg Day61 Bundalp-Kendersteg 8.3mi 3074ft ascent

This morning we started our day with breakfast with Gertrude and wished her well as she was going on a llama seeking adventure.

The morning was warm and we started with some pretty step climbing.

This progressed to even stepper ascent including ropes attached to the mountain side for balance and possible high winds.

Marble fields

Despite all this climbing, we all commented that today felt easier than yesterday and we even managed to climb to the highest point on the Via Alpina at 9114.7ft.

Endless stairs

The descent however was challenging.

Thank you for all of your prayers.  God is forever good to us!  We chatted with many people along the way.  One person in particular named William.

William who is an English Christian is going home to minister to a lady named Agnes.  She has two broken vertebrae in her neck and is in severe pain.

William

Agnes is a believer and we gave William a Camino Arrow to give to Agnes.  We told him to share the message we gave him about the arrow and to tell here that several churches in America would pray for her healing and endurance through the pain.

We may never hear an answer to these prayers but we all know God will hear our prayers and minister to our sister in Christ Agnes.

We ended our day passing by a beautiful lake where Allison and I dipped out toes in the rather cool waters and then down to our camp site.

Our day was not long but the elevation was impressive. And then the sun came out to play which heated up the day more than we would like.

Three pilgrim shadows

The evening cools down quickly once the sun sets. We quickly add clothing layers.

There is so much to say about the last three days. But alas it is already almost 10pm and I’m beat. Tomorrow and the next two days will be the last of the current challenges. We may or may not post. Please be patient and pray for endurance and understanding.

Wow. The last week has seems to have been super challenging but full of incredible views! So glad Aunt Nadine is feeling better and that she is beating you down the mountain lol I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again “My parents are way cooler than me!” Praying for Agnes and William this morning

What a hike you had. The decent looked at bit challenging to say the least. Praying for Agnus and for you 3 to keep up your strength. Mark…you need some electrolytes!

    1. There were some moments of small slips (mostly on the downhill bits) but the worst injury was a skinned knee and a very mild ankle strain. We were protected along the way.
Thank you for faithfully following us and interacting with us. It can’t be underestimated how much it means.
