Short update today because we are wild camping with no wifi nor electricity.
We are well.
Our 16.3mi with 3600+ ascent sounds like quite a feet, but honestly it included 2200 of a cable car ride so let’s just subtract that off and make it a 1409ft ascent. That’s all we can say.

We also went through a town called Lauterbrunnen. J.R.R. Tolkien visited Lauterbrunnen in 1911 and was so inspired by the landscape that he later used it as a basis for his depiction of Rivendell in The Lord of the Rings. Just a fun factoid along the way.

Good night. Maybe we can post more tomorrow.

Do you guys use your hiking poles as tent stakes?? I never noticed in other camping pictures! Haha

No. We have them planted where they are to keep us from tripping over those ultra lightweight tent stakes!

Love those views! I am moving to the beach this month while you are in the Alps. Always love the mountains. Darlene
