The sun is shining today! It’s going to be a good day!

Today was a relatively short day of 12.54 miles. We listened to Christian reggae (Christafari) music as we walked along the way. Isn’t that silly being in Germany and listening to reggae. I was captured by the variety of mushrooms along the way and of course the cherries, raspberries and the flowers!

We stopped for the afternoon at a family run gasthaus in the small village of Kornbach. The owner’s son is the chef here. I helped him pick up a few crates of fallen apples. He said the crop has not been very good this year due to too much rain and the cold. Below is a sweet picture of him and his two sons. His wife was also very nice as well and spoke English very well.

Even though our day was short in distance, we did walk along several different types of paths. And the animal sightings along the way are always uplifting. Just for fun we may attempt to communicate with the animals. So far no one has been successful. We will keep you posted if there are any successes.

Short days are a blessing. One was needed today due to our various minor injuries. Nothing serious, but they make you adapt. In addition to my typical knee and back pain (which honestly I’m used to), I developed a leg rash. Our best guess is irritation due to the tall wet grass. It is just a minor thing to add to the list but I know you all wanted to see a picture of my foot anyway. Haha.

The next two days will be tough with distances of 18 and 19mi to cover. But after that we have a 3 day rest. Tomorrow night we are staying in a Pferdestall. Look it up, or wait until tomorrow to find out. I’ll get to add that to the unusual places we’ve spent the night.

And the day ended with spending time with Guido, a general medicine physician, Janet, his wife, in advertising and their dog Lily… delightful!

mark, I’m sure your new kitty friend was absolutely thrilling for you 😁. Maybe that’s where you got the rash.
will continue praying for healing and relief regarding various health concerns.

The rash was there long before or I’d love to blame it on a cat! Haha.

The red topped mushroom looked like it had a heart carved in it!

Yes! I saw that as well. Many houses have hearts in the windows or landscaping designs. Another thing I have noticed is usually in a stone in front of a house will be the initials of the people in the house and the year it was established.

I was going to say the same thing about the rash being related to the cat, like maybe she had poison ivy on her fur. I’m glad the kitty is off the hook!
I’m going to guess you’ll be sleeping in a horse barn tomorrow night 😊
The pic of the man on the tractor with his kids was sweet ❤

So many things to see…and smell. We can always tell when we come close to a town and smell the cows before we see them! Lots of farm land! And there is the smell of pine, flowers and some unidentifiable smells as well. Fun times!
