You can never tell our mood as we entered Day15, our xth consecutive day of wet.
Today, to lighten the mood I snuck up on Nadine as we walked.
As most of you know, the section of our pilgrimage is along a path called Burgenweg. It is a nature filled path that today ran alongside the Waldnaab River. It was so intriguing with beautiful babbling broom sounds and odd rock formations.

We also passed our fourth castle along the way. This one was Falkenberg Castle. It is now a hotel and event center.

And finally, here are a few more oddities.

I think today was a little discouraging with yet another wet day of travel and of course right before we reached our destination, we went through a field of tall wet grass. Our shoes were soaking wet and pee yew stinky! But the sun is gloriously shining, the clothes are out on the line and there’s this fun gizmo that dries your shoes! I want one! (Allison request).

Prayers appreciated for sore feet for Allison and I and Mark’s back issues. Mark actually was the one who finished strong today! I think we completed over 18 miles today.
Oh one more thing…this place has an amazing tea selection! It’s the small things in life that make you happy! 😊

And because we are pampering ourselves with some simple items such as peppermint tea, our supper meal will be soup. Soup just soothes the soup and body.

Evelyn and June think “walking in the rain is crazy!”
Hope you have some dry days soon! And praying for physical relief for all 3 of you.

that compilation video was neat! I’m sorry your shoes reek. Hoping you can find a place to make them less stinky and hoping for softer ground to traverse to ease sore feet and back.

Mom’s foot is the most troublesome. It’s not sore but “injured” in some way (like abuse type injury). It’s the upper tendons in her foot around the third or fourth toe up to about mid foot. We’re all hoping the rest days at Gerhard’s will be the trick. But we have two days of walking to get there and they aren’t short days.
We may end up abandoning one or one and a half of those days if it hurts her too much.

If your feet are stinky, do they make you sleep in that glass cheese dome?

We need to be in a wind tunnel to move that smell far, far away!
