Jakobsweg Day4 Roztoky-Kalinova Ves 14.1mi

First of all, thanks for your patience. We are at yet another campground but this one has showers and WiFi. Thank you Lord!! We all really needed some WiFi and the showers are nice too. Wait…I got that backwards.

Second, did you know that there is a “Maps” page on this site? On it there are two maps. The top one is just an image of our entire route. The bottom one is however is a zoomable map with a hiker icon showing where we are each day..well unless I forget to update it. You will see there that as-of today, we are about 1/3 of the way through the Czech Republic already! Cool.

Third, did you know there is a Travel Notes section of this site that tells you a snippet about the towns we are walking through. If you’d like some idea about the places we’re seeing check it out. It’s free for anyone logged into this VLOG.

Ok. Back to our journey.

As a catch up from Yesterday’s extravaganza!

I hope I ended up covering most of what happened yesterday in my brief summary. I could go on and share more but I’m afraid an already long post would just get longer. Let’s just include a bunch more captioned photos from Yesterday.

On to Today

The day was mostly walking in woods with steep ups and downs the whole day. The effort was rewarded with very nice views of the Berounka River the whole day.

We passed the famous Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area with its interesting Rock formations and then into the town of Skryje. If you’d e never heard of Skryje don’t feel bad, but maybe you should. It is one of the top sites in the world for Trilobites..you know those prehistoric horseshoe-crab like guys.

All in all the day was short and we ended it – kind of where we started – on the banks of the Berounka River. The really good news was this Camp had showers!! We are happy.

I will close with a brief note about walking together.  We are great friends and have walked a lot together back home.  But the constant need to make decisions about things that none of us know much about can be stressful.  We manage it all through grace and grace alone.

I am perfect at this of course.  Hahaha,

But honestly, it does take practice and sometimes hard work.  Pray with me to be more and more graceful with my pilgrim family.

Nadine here.

Just a few pictures of the varied terrain on today’s walk.

And that’s in a span of several hours!

What’s not here…Dollar Stores!

Allison

Good evening all, Allison here. Today was short in kilometers…thank goodness. I am beginning to feel worn. But the scenery is stunning. I am now convinced that no where in the Czech Republic is flat.

Seeing a new calf wobbling around the field made me smile. I do like cattle. Sorry to all the sheep lovers out there.

June wants to tell “Auntie Dean” that the picture of pink flowers is BEAUTIFUL (yelled at the top of her lungs).

And Evelyn wants to know if you pet the baby cow?

Bumping you all up toward the top of the prayer list. I always preach, “together we can”. Love following along, and love the photos.

Love following along with you all while you walk. I admire what you are doing. I would love the walking part … not so sure about all the camping! Thanks for letting us follow along! Praying for you all daily … for safety and for God to put the right people in your path along the way. Hugs! Kim Snipes
