Another short post with limited content because we are tent camping with no wifi.
We left in the morning after a big breakfast of eggs, yogurt, and a whole honeydew melon.
The walk today was very nice with lots of wooded and farm paths.

The rolling hills parted occasionally to reveal ever closer view of the Swiss Alps.

Soon we started seeing fruit trees. Now normally this would be nothing new but the quantity and abundance of fruit soon made it clear that we were in Obst (fruit) country. In fact we walked through the center of a huge orchard. We saw a group of older men in a truck harvesting the apples by hand.

Later we met a man who struck up a conversation in German with us.
When he found out what we were doing he insisted on going to the orchard and getting us some apples for our packs. Little did he know that we had been snacking on apples and pears for the last hour. But we accepted his gift.

The orchard area went on forever. Growing were dozens of varieties of apples and pears, some plums, peaches (already harvested) and even hops.

The last hour of our walk up to the campsite was a struggle but the views across the lake were stunning. Also a Goodyear Blimp kept circling around the lake (tourist ride??).

After setting up our tents, Nadine and I walked back down to the village (about 1.5km) and got dinner and breakfast supplies. We returned and took our turn in the rustic shower and got our clothes washed.
Next we sat down in the shade for dinner and then back down to the town for a treat.

Of all of the food pics, I like the dessert ones the best!
Love the bridge pic!
Can’t believe the apple and pear branches haven’t broken with all of that fruit!

It was amazing. The desserts are our favorites to eat and to brag about. We always say that one be of the best things about these walks is that you can eat ANYTHING and have seconds if you want. We burn it off so quickly.
On the opposite side, one of the hardest things when we get home is stopping g that habit. 🙂
